Are you ready for some seriously fun sewing?

Why seriously fun? Well, ´cause, for me, the biggest fun about this whole sewing thing are little details. And you now how many details are on kid´s clothes. The biggest challenge is to find a new way to spice your boy´s clothing..

So?  Are you doing it?  Are you committing to sew an hour a day this week on kid's clothes along with over 500 people and Meg?
I definitely am! This means I´m challenged to sew one hour a day, each day for 7 days. The idea is that we all have the urge to sew clothes for our children, but we don't always give ourselves the time to do it.  If you commit to sitting in front of your sewing machine, or tracing patterns, or cutting fabric, for one hour each day, then at the end of the week you will have some very well dressed kids!

And now, let´s talk about inspiration. As I probably already mentioned, I really really love Zara. It´s one
of my favorite fashion stores and definitely my favorite kid´s store! Of course, being a seamstress, I rarely ever buy something (Well, exept the shoes, they have really lovely shoes!)
So, here are few things I really really like and would love to do some knock offs!

For little ladies:

For really cool guys:

Of course, I have a few ideas of my own, a few tutorials from the blogland that I wanted to try for a long time and a few thing I MUST sew, like some comfortable pants for kindergarten.

Maybe I should commit for a whole month of sewing kid´s clothes:-))

Simple tunic

This is the second top I´ve made for Spring Top Sewalong. I was planning to make 4 but just didn´t find time to do so. If you are curious to find out more about this sewalong go here, on Made by Rea  .

It was fast, it was simple and you can do it with only few stitches. I created my own pattern that is very simple. I will post a tutorial in a few days!
Hope you like it!

Spring flower boots

For this project you will need two 60˝x 6˝ pieces of fabric and 38˝ of satin ribbon.

Sew zig-zag stitch along the one of the longer edges of fabric.

Carefully cut the rest of the fabric.

Turn shorter edges right side together and sew them.

Measure the width of your boot top. Mine was 19˝ so I cut 19˝ long ribbon piece. Adjust your machine to a strait stitch, in the longest stitch length available. 1.5˝ from the top of your fabric (the one you didn´t sew with zigzag)  sew two parallel lines down the side of your strip, leaving long threads at the ends. Then take the bottom (bobbin) threads and pull them with one hand, while gently pushing your fabric away from them with the other hand. Now you have to arrange your gathers so that they are even. This should be 19˝ long, same as ribbon.

Sew the ribbon over that seam.

Now you have to place you ruffle and hot glue it to the boot.

I think, in this boots, you are going to enjoy gardening even more!

Happy creating!

Project Recycled

Robin, from the T-Shirt Diaries, is running Project Recycled and I'm one of the contestants.
I really love recycling, so I´m pretty excited to be a part of this contest!
Each week we have to make an item, using recycled materials. This first week, we could make whatever we wanted. I can´t tell you yet what I´ve made, that´s the rule.
But, head on over, take a look and cast vote for your favorite project...
